EUROSATORY will take place from 15 to 19 June 2026 in Paris. Co-organised with the French Ministry for the Armed Forces, it is one of the world’s leading defence and security exhibitions. ArianeGroup and its subsidiary Pyroalliance will be exhibiting at the event, showcasing their latest innovations and solutions in strategic defence and space situational awareness.
With more than 2,000 exhibitors and numerous international delegations, EUROSATORY is a key event for stakeholders from across the defence industry, armed forces, security services, research organisations and government agencies. For ArianeGroup, EUROSATORY provides an opportunity to highlight its unique expertise at the intersection of strategic defence systems and space technologies.
With decades of experience in the design and manufacture of advanced propulsion systems, missile technologies and ballistic systems, ArianeGroup has developed a comprehensive portfolio of strategic defence solutions, including the M51, MBT, SyLEx and FLP-t 150 programmes. The company therefore possesses expertise across the full ballistic systems value chain, from propulsion and pyrotechnic components to fully integrated systems.
ArianeGroup recently reached a major milestone in the FLP-t 150 (Frappe Longue Portée – Terrestre, Long-Range Ground-Based Strike) programme, a 150 km-range munition being developed jointly with Thales. The programme’s first test firing was successfully conducted in early May. Analysis of the data collected during the test confirmed the system’s performance and paved the way for the next stages of its development.
ArianeGroup’s unique footprint spanning both the space and defence sectors enables it to leverage synergies between the two. Technologies, methods and expertise developed for space transportation programmes are applied to defence systems, while experience gained through defence programmes helps drive innovation in space applications.
A good example of ArianeGroup’s dual space and defence expertise is the Helix space surveillance service, which enables the detection and tracking of objects across all orbital regimes, from low Earth orbit (LEO) to geostationary orbit (GEO). It consists of a global network of optical and infrared sensors supported by a command-and-control centre, providing round-the-clock data collection and processing.
When a potential threat or anomalous activity is detected in orbit, the system immediately alerts operators, enabling them to take timely action to safeguard their assets. Helix thus helps protect both civil and military space infrastructure while meeting the growing demand for space situational awareness (SSA) capabilities.
EUROSATORY 2026 will also provide an opportunity for Pyroalliance to showcase a selection of pyrotechnic and mechanical solutions for defence applications. Available in both standard and custom-designed configurations, these products perform a wide range of functions, including ignition, transmission, thrust generation and separation.
The systems showcased at the exhibition will illustrate the strong synergies between space and defence technologies within ArianeGroup. They will also demonstrate how ArianeGroup transforms decades of expertise in these two domains into tangible solutions for strategic sectors that are critical to security and Europe’s space architecture.
In an increasingly complex and unstable geopolitical environment, sovereign European capabilities in both space and defence are absolutely crucial to ensuring Europe’s freedom of action in security and defence. Through its technologies and expertise, ArianeGroup plays a key role in strengthening security and sustaining the development of these strategic capabilities over the long term.
