ArianeGroup Joins the French Navy in Celebrating 400 Years of History

On the occasion of the 400^th anniversary of the French Navy, ArianeGroup was proud to take part in this landmark celebration, marking four centuries of service to France and the protection of its maritime interests.

In May and June, our teams contributed to several conferences dedicated to key maritime and strategic challenges, and met with members of the public in Cayenne, Toulouse, Bordeaux and Rouen during the “Jeunesse et Territoires” (“Youth and Territories”) events organised for the occasion.

These exchanges provided an opportunity to showcase ArianeGroup’s role in supporting the French Navy to both the general public and the civil and military authorities in attendance. This support is demonstrated first and foremost through the M51 missile, which underpins France’s ocean-based nuclear deterrent (FOST). It also extends to Ariane 6, which ensures sovereign access to space for the satellites on which the Navy relies. More broadly, ArianeGroup’s connection to the maritime world is reflected in Canopée, the next-generation sail-powered cargo ship designed to transport Ariane 6 components across the Atlantic.
