ArianeGroup to supply reflectors for Eutelsat’s new HOTBIRD satellites 04-03-2019 |  3 minutes

These particularly compact, lightweight reflectors can be stored in groups of three on the same side of the satellite, making it possible for each satellite to deploy up to six reflectors. The two new-generation Eutelsat HOTBIRD satellites will both host five reflectors (three on one side, two on the opposite side), enabling the European operator to reinforce and enhance TV broadcasting services over Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, when renewing its fleet in 2022.

This contract highlights the success of ArianeGroup’s refurbished Antenna Reflectors product manufacturing line at Les Mureaux, France, which boasts a strong heritage of 158 reflectors produced since 2001. All 10 HOTBIRD reflectors will be delivered to Airbus Defence and Space during the course of 2020.
