Who are we ?

Pyroalliance, a subsidiary of ArianeGroup, partners with major industry players and agencies to develop the energetic systems of the future.

Pyroalliance offers a broad range of energetic systems for defence, space and industrial markets where safety, performance and reliability are key.

Pyroalliance employs 161 people at sites in Les Mureaux, near Paris, and Toulon, in southern France.

Our energetic systems cover the following functions:

  • Motor and rocket ignition
  • Stage release
  • Neutralisation
  • Mechanical actuation
  • Gas generation

The logical combination of several of these areas fulfils multiple complex functions and new applications, where energy density, speed of operation and reliability are critical.

Developments and R&T

Pyroalliance uses EN9100-certified structured development processes. These processes aim to achieve a high level of technical justification concerning compliance with customer requirements.

To achieve this, multi-discipline teams of engineers and technicians use an approach combining computer simulation and highly instrumented testing.

In particular, product modelling is carried out using finite element simulation codes (Pro-mechanica or LS-DYNA) or based on equations of state (proprietary codes).

    Industrial organisation

Pyroalliance relies on two different production skill sets, both based on a strong product culture and operator know-how:

    • A ‘process’ skill set for the operation of machines used in the production of detonation cords. This skill set relies on unique know-how and processes involved in loading, forming or rolling, drawing and braiding, and characterisation.
    • A component assembly skill set for the production of energetic systems. This skill set involves specific know-how and competences in inspection and cabling.

The production skill sets of Pyroalliance rely on a high level of qualification of operators and technicians thanks to several years of on-the-job training, particularly in the case of assembly skills.

Pyroalliance, a subsidiary of Airbus Safran Launchers, aims to ensure the continued availability of these highly specific skills and guarantee customer support for long-term programmes.

Pyroalliance quality and environment management systems are ISO 9001/14001 and EN 9100 certified.
